10th week AI results

Lllllllllllllets get ready to RUMBLE!!!! In the red corner, in the sparkly dress with lots of jewelry, is Paula Abdul! And in the blue corner, wearing a bad attitude is Kara Di A Whatsmyname! And in the grey corner, wearing a thin white T-shirt showing how cold it is in the room, is Simon Cowell!!!

Man oh man, if you missed the fight, it was crazy! This week's song choices were a pick by the judges, and a pick by the contestant. Things went awry when Simon dissed Danny's "dancing', and Ryan referenced seeing Simon dance in Las Vegas. Paula seemed to have a story to add onto that and Simon, sensing the imminent threat to his manilness, silenced her with both hands. The camera cut away, and we heard Paula yelling "Help! Help!", and Ryan advising that the camera not cut back to the feisty couple. Ding Ding! End of Round One.

Next, Kara Di A Whatsmyname (and Randy) chose "Apologize" by OneRepublic for Kris. However, after hearing Kris sing it, Kara berated him for his song choice! Naturally, Simon had to bring the stupidity of the comment to her attention, at which time she lept from her chair and put Simon in a choke hold. Ding Ding! End of Round Two!

Danny did a good job with Paula's song choice of "Dance Little Sister" by Terrence Trent D'Arby, and his own choice of "You Are So Beautiful" by Joe Cocker. Simon declared his version a "vocal masterclass"!

Kris' own choice was "Heartless" (Kanya West or Fray), which Randy liked better than the original. Paula said the song was about Simon, haha!

Simon made a huge point out of the fact that he had to get special permission from U2 to allow Adam to sing "One", and that he would not turn around and say it was a dumb song choice. Ding Ding! End of Round Three! Adam did well with it, as well as his own pick of "Crying" by Aerosmith.

Hometown visits were shown, with Danny in Milwaukee, Kris in Little Rock and Adam in San Diego. All had tons of screaming fans, young and old. I always tear up during these!

Tonight's show opened with Ben Stiller and the cast of "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" announcing that soon, the American Idol desk will be in the Smithsonian! How awesome is that?

Jordin Sparks performed her latest "Battlefield" which I thought was just so-so, and Katy Perry sang "Waking Up In Vegas", opening the number displaying her cape with "Adam Lambert" embroidered on it. Hmmm, will that influence votes? Her performance was more than a bit pitchy, dawg...it was downright ear-splitting! Very scary...

A whopping 88 million votes were cast, and only 1 million separate the top 2! Suspension at an all-time high, our Final Two are Kris and Adam! (loud applause from me) With Danny Go-Go-Gone, here are our new totals!
