Ah-ah-ah-ah...Stayin' Alive, Stayin' Alive! That's what all the contestants are hoping for after Disco week! (and some Poolies, too!) It was a nice trip down memory lane for me to hear all the songs I used to dance to at the Poison Apple...(anybody remember that place?) Ah yes, a lit-up floor just like on Saturday Night Fever and a mirror ball, it was magical.
Most of the contestants weren't around when these songs were popular, but gave it the old college try.
Lil thought she had the right song choice with "I'm Every Woman", but Kara pointed out to her that she's been every woman on that stage...except for herself. Can her black spandex catsuit save her now?
Kris did an interesting version of "She Works Hard For the Money", and we learned that for reasons unknown, he shops in the ladies department. For what, we're left to imagine!
Danny sang "September" and Paula deemed he had one of the sexiest voices around. It was just aight for me, dawg.
Now Allison was something to behold, dressed as a Disco Temptress milk maid. What was she thinking? But her version of "Hot Stuff" was indeed, hot.
Adam...do I even need to write anything here? I'm running out of adjectives to describe him, but I'll suffice with "unique" for his slowed-down version of "If I Can't Have You". It was awesome. Ooops, there I go again!
Matt sang "Stayin' Alive" in honor of the judges using their "save" on him last week, and wore a stupid hat to cover that stupid bump on his forehead. Simon called his performance "desperate".
And poor Anoop-Dawg sang "Dim All The Lights", which actually is a song I do not know, but I thought he did a nice job with it, pink vest and all.. But Simon seemed as if he wanted to throw up.
Our entertainment tonight came from live performances by legends Frieda Payne, Thelma Houston, and KC (without the Sunshine Band...they must have been booked someplace else). You know, there's nothing sadder than aging stars. Frieda's performance was painful, and she looked to be in pain from being poured into that see-through dress! What is she now, 108 year old? Then came Thelma with a bowl of spaghetti noodles on her head, and poor KC, all puffed up, hairline receeding, no dance moves without getting winded...and then it hit me who he reminded me of...
For you non-State Farmers, this is our CEO. It's uncanny, don't you think?
With no beating around the bush, Ryan sent Lil packing. Were any of us surprised at this? She's picked the wrong song for the last time. She sure had us fooled when we started this pool, she was a real contender in our eyes, and 13 of us had her picked to win. Whoopsie! So Lil takes the #7 spot for the purpose of our point totals.
The other bottom feeders were Anoop and Allison, which was a surprise to me, but it was Anoop and his eyebrows who were shown the door. NONE of us picked him to win, so it's all good. He will take our #6 spot.
That being said, here are our new point totals!
Still in first place and apparently unaware of it is Chris W with 15 points! I told his wife a few weeks ago that he was in first place and she said "Oh really? We haven't been following along!" Come on now...let's take a vote. I say to win first place, you need to at least FOLLOW ALONG!!! Ugh!
A close second place with 17 points is Karaoke Joel, wow I'm still impressed with your improvement this year!
In third place with 18 points, we have Kelley E and Stephanie P. Great job guys!

And our new biggest point holder...Deanna! Darn it!
OK, put your spandex and mirror balls back in the closet until next year. And then there were five...! WHO will go next week? WHAT will the theme be? WILL Chris W finally start "following along"? It all remains to be seen! Until next week, this is Norma...OUT!
