Good evening Poolies! Ah, who of us doesn't remember songs from the year we were born? For me, it would be hard to decide if I should sing "I Can't Stop Loving You" by Ray Charles, "Sherry" by the Four Seasons, or "The Twist" by Chubby Checker...
Now why do I hear the majority of you scratching your heads??? Frankie Avalon made an impromtu appearance in honor of Simon's birth year to sing "Venus". So now we know that Simon will soon hit the big 5-0!
It was a walk down memory lane for the contestants, complete with embarrassing baby pictures and parents telling the stories that should've remained family secrets. Aspirations of being a Taxi driver, playing dress up, wanting to be a train engineer, talking non-stop, how you got your weird name...it was magical.
Anoop was given an opportunity to explain his "Excuse me?" comment after Kara gave him a less than stellar critique last week - it wasn't him. (who was it then?) But Simon told him there's no need to apologize since they say mean things to the contestants all the time. To which Anoop exclaimed "Excuse the heck out of you?!" (I made that one up!)
Stand-outs of the night, in your Poolmasters' eyes, Allison and Adam. Allison just has that husky, soulful sound, never off-key, a joy to listen to. And Adam, well, he's just hypnotic. And like others of you to DVR'd the show, you had to do to YOUTUBE to catch his performance, and Simon's resulting standing O. I hate when they run late!
Performances during the results show included Flo Rida (not to be confused with Florida) and Kellie Pickler doing her best to not fall off her high heels.
This week's Befuddled Bottom Three consisted of Anoop, Scott, and Lil. Anoop was speechless. But it was Scott who was named the one with the fewest votes, and with a split decision, Simon trumped the others with his vote to not use the "judges save" on him. With that, here are the new totals!
Still with a sound lead for the 3rd week in a row is Chris W! With only 11 points, he's defying all AI pool laws! Can he continue this hot pace?
In 2nd place and sitting pretty with 14 points are Kelley E, Joel, Stephanie and Chas! Very impressive, guys!
On their best behavior in 3rd place with 15 points are Jamie J, Donna H and Karen H! Whoopee!!!
Our 4th place with 16 points belongs to Penney R, Kelly O, Jamey W, and Tim M. Still strong contenders!
And rounding out 5th place with 17 points are Beth H and Nancy L! Good job, guys!
The rest of us are just trying to stay hopeful.
With 18 points - John R, Connie G, Anne B, Kerry V and Jeff V.
With 19 points - Lynn W and Rich H.
With 20 points - Angela M and Tina H.
With 21 points - Pam, Rich E, and Heidi.
With 23 points - Brad K, Hollie K, Phaedra, Rachel, and ME.
With 24 points - Kyle S, Katie E, Tony S, and Becky S.
With 25 points - Kristie S.
With 26 points - Kristy S, Patty W, and Mike M.
With 27 points - Heather and Russ.
With 28 points - Angela W, Noreen, and Terri V.
With 29 points - Deanna.
With 30 points - Amy M and Jen W.
With 31 points and about as far as can be from where they were last year, John & Lyndi!
With 34 points - Kathryn
And our bottom Poolie with 35 points, Amy A. Hey, does Zoie know about "American Idol"???
And that my friends is it for this week. The "judges save" is still a possibility; but keep in mind they can only use it up to the last 5 contestants. If they don't use it by then, it's gone. So some of us still have a chance at getting 5 points knocked off our totals! Wilth my fingers crossed, this is Norma....OUT!
